Sally Ann Weiner (nee Gould) born August 3 1940, passed away peacefully November 2, 2021.
Sally was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Rueben and Christine Gould and had by all accounts a spirited and engaging childhood. She graduated from Shaker Heights High School and after her children were older, returned to the University of Akron to obtain a degree in Social Work. She resided in Akron, Ohio and established a decades-long career in retail fashion, first at Charlotte’s West and then at Ino’s Fashions, where she enjoyed finding “just the right prom dress” for her younger customers. Her greatest source of pride as a single mother was the high level of achievement of her children and her love of her grandchildren.
She loved musical theater, travelling with family, all levels of football, and took a particular interest in politics in her later years.
Her positive energy was contagious and in her time spent at the Village of St. Edward’s, you would frequently find aides and staff gathered in her room, sharing her bright laughter, or watching a game. Her love of, and support for, her children was without measure. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, and her lively, caring spirit will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Gould; and son-in-law, Bill Cotopolis; and survived by her children, Scott (Margaret) Weiner, Tracy Cotopolis, and Brad (Sherry) Weiner; sister, Debby (Arthur) Zinn; and brothers, Larry (Starr) and Robert (Peggy) Gould; grandchildren, Ben (Katie), Brian (Mariah), Julie, Nick, Jake, Olivia and Simon; and great grandchildren Ruth and Levi; and many treasured nieces and nephews.
