Addie M. Koch

Addie M. Koch, 94 passed away peacefully on Saturday April 2, 2022, and will be laid to rest next to Robert C. Koch.

Addie was born in Detroit, MI on October 1, 1927, to the late Frank Pelfrey and Dora Wiley-Pelfrey. Addie’s parents moved shortly after to Akron, Ohio to work in manufacturing at Goodyear Tire. Addie attended Buchtel High School and graduated from Kent State University in 1954 with a BA in Elementary Education and specializing in Library Science. Addie resided in Akron, Ohio for most of her life working as a librarian and elementary school teacher. Addie’s Christian faith began as a child attending Akron High Street Church of Christ, Westside Church of Christ, and Grace Church. Ms. Koch retired in 1986 from the Cleveland Public School System where she was a librarian and sixth grade teacher. Addie shared part-time residence in Florida until 2004 when she moved permanently to Sarasota, Florida to be near her greatest loves her children and grandchildren who all resided in Florida. Addie loved to attend Women’s City Club, travel, attend plays, read, socialize, bridge, love on friends - family and attend church. Addie loved her family and instilled strong values that have served them well. She will forever live in our hearts.

Preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Koch. Ms. Koch is survived by her daughter Melinda Ann Harris, son Robert Michael Koch, grandchildren Dana Harris, David Harris, Emily Melser, Robert Koch, Blake Koch, Brett Koch, and daughter in-law Ruth Koch.

Please join us in celebrating her life at 12 PM on Saturday April 23, 2022, at Billow Funeral Home, 85 N. Miller Rd.  Fairlawn, Ohio 44333 with Pastor Nate Rayl officiating. Family and friends may visit from 11-12 PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park at 1 PM and fellowship afterwards at Grace Church Fairlawn.
