Alene Hennis

Alene Hennis, 71, died August 8, 2013, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She taught English at Spicer and Roswell Kent Junior High Schools in Akron. Later in her career, she was Special Assistant to the Deputy Director of the Summit County Board of Elections, and was the Quality Assurance Coordinator at Fallsview Psychiatric Hospital.

Alene is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard and Carol Hennis of Copley and Carol and James Cobb of Venice, Florida; nieces and nephews and their families, Mark (Karen) Hennis, Karen (Mark) Janes, Jennifer (Boyd) Pethel, Christopher and Mark (Marja) Chiampo.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Dr. Donard M. Engle, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour before services.
