Allen B Smith

Allen B. Smith, 80, died April 19, 2013.

A life resident of Akron, he was a graduate of Wittenberg University where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired as a sales manager from B.F. Goodrich with 29 years service. An avid sports fan, coach and mentor, with a great sense of humor, he was a good friend to everyone.

Allen is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jo Ann; children, Allyn (John) Davies, Linda (Craig) Hudson, Sally Smith, Tim Smith, Mary Kay (Vince) Gross and David (Rebekah) Smith; grandchildren, Ben and Erin Davies, Abigail and Mark Hudson, Shanon and Morgan Smith, Nick, Katie, and Emily Gross, and Alicia, Jessica, and Tyler Smith.

A memorial mass will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St., with Fr. Steven Brunovsky officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
