Andrew N. Goumas, 90, died Jan. 20, 2015.
A life resident of Akron, he was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked for the family business, Ohio Store Fixture and Howell-Viggers Real Estate. He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, AHEPA, and the National Airship Association. His passions included traveling to Greece with his wife and granddaughter to visit his many family members, breakfasts with family and friends, and spending many years at Lake Mohawk where he waterskied until he was 79.
Preceded in death by wife, Margaret; brothers, James and Frank; sister, Calipso Duncan; he is survived by son, Theodore; daughter, Yvonne (Dave) McLaughlin; granddaughter, Alison McLaughlin; brother, Spiro; sisters, Mary (George) Mitchell and Calliope Kody; sisters-in-law, Sophie and Pauline Vasilopoulos and Helen Goumas; many nieces and nephews; and grand puppy, Maddie.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Jerry F. Hall and Fr. Andrew Lentz officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with a Trisagion service at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund or the Katherine G.
