Angela Rose (Nee Romweber) Hearty

August 15, 1926 — June 29, 2022

Angela Rose (nee Romweber) Hearty passed away on June 29, 2022. She was born August 15, 1926 in Batesville, IN. Just shy of 96 years, Angela lived an active life full of God, family and friends. Raising ten children, Angela found a need for other activities (escapes) besides attending hundreds of activities and events which her “herd” participated in over the years. She travelled extensively with her husband of 53 years, George J. Hearty. She loved the sun and played golf, tennis and bridge well into her 80s. She volunteered at St. Thomas Hospital, worked as a scorer for the American Golf Classic and World Series of Golf at Firestone CC, and participated in many other opportunities through the Junior League of Akron. When her husband George passed away in 2001, she downsized her living space to enjoy a quieter life in a smaller space only to find that she was still hosting many family get-togethers in her smaller space. She was indeed the “ties that bind.” She will be sorely missed but leaves a legacy unlike any other, and her family will continue to celebrate her until they meet again.

Angela was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, John Romweber and Anna (nee Aprea) Romweber; sister, Gretchen (Romweber) Lammers; and many of her and George’s beloved friends. She is survived by her sisters, Sophia Gilligan and Theresa (William) Grote; and brother, Anthony (Francis) Romweber; her children, John (Ellen), Gretchen (Jeff) Gibson, Jay (Pamela), Michael, Chris (Nancy), Kevin, Tim, Jeff (Alma), Molly (Scott) Dantio and Stephen (Traci); 20 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Angela’s caregiver, Brenda, for the compassionate care she provided. The family would also like to thank the staff at the Village of Saint Edward’s. Most especially, the family would like to recognize and thank Ryan and Lydia for the selfless love and care they provided for their “Mayma.”
