Angeliki Vasilatos
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Angeliki Vasilatos, who peacefully left this world on November 20, 2024, at the age of 94. Born in Agia Thekli, Cephalonia, Greece, on April 10, 1930, Angeliki’s life was defined by boundless love, unwavering strength, and a selflessness that touched all who knew her.
As an immigrant, Angeliki’s courage and resilience shone through from the moment she left her homeland in search of a better future for her family. Her journey, though marked by hardships, was driven by a singular focus: ensuring the happiness and success of her children. Despite the challenges she faced, her strength remained unshaken, and she was a constant, loving presence for her family and friends. Angeliki’s ability to put the needs of others before her own was one of her most remarkable qualities.
A devoted wife and mother, Angeliki’s love was unconditional and enduring. She had a special way of making everyone around her feel valued and cherished. Whether offering a kind word, a helping hand, or a meal made with love, she was always there for those who needed her. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she often sacrificed her own comforts to ensure others were taken care of. Angeliki’s home was a sanctuary, a place of warmth, laughter, and unwavering support, where family and friends were always welcomed with open arms.
Angeliki believed deeply in the power of family, and her love extended beyond her immediate circle. Her compassion and kindness impacted the lives of many, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and sacrifice that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Angeliki was a passionate supporter of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the Philoptochos Society. Though not a woman of great wealth, she was always generous in her support of the less fortunate.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Demetrios Vasilatos, and her brother and sister-in-law, Spiros (Niki) Vasilatos, along with many beloved brothers and sisters.
Angeliki is survived by her children, Mike (Wendy) and Constantine (Tami); beloved grandchildren, Angelica, Olivia, and Zander; siblings, Spiros (Barbara), Gerasimos, Ioannis, Christos (Anna), Helen Rouchotas, Eleni (Alexandros) Frangiskatos; cousins, Jerry Papas, Elpida Manolas and Maria Vassilakis.
