Anita L. Young Anita L. Young passed away October 16, 2011. Born May 14, 1914, in Apple Creek, Ohio, she moved to Wooster in 1923, living there until attending Heidelberg College, Tiffin, Ohio. While in college, she met and married Robert W. Young. Except for four years living in Lincoln, Nebraska as a result of her husband's transfer with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., she has lived in Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Young. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Anne Emert husband James Emert, Jr.; son, John Robert Young wife Catherine Young; grandchildren, Susan Malson, James Emert III wife Stacey, Weston Young wife Karen, Mindelynn Young, Mitchell Young wife Kristen; great-grandchildren, Tyler Malson, Brock Malson, Logan Malson, A.J. Young, Ellianna Young, and Jameson Young. Church, family, friends, and volunteer service were important aspects of her life. As a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, she served as president of the Women's Association, Chairman of the Board of Deaconesses, and District Chairman of the Cleveland Presbyteries. Organizations in which she served many years included President of the Woman's Board of Summit County Children Services, United Way, Stan Hywet, Portage Path School PTA, and PEO Chapter P. For outstanding community service, she received both the Betty Jaycox and Roy G. Jeter awards. Her hobbies included bridge, bookkeeping, accounting, and reading. She enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's activities and was an avid fan of Ohio State, the Browns, the Indians and chocolate. Service will be held 10:30 a.m. SATURDAY at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1250 W. Exchange St., with Rev. Derek Starr Redwine officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow the service in Wright Herberich Hall with burial to follow in Wooster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Woman's Auxiliary Board of the Summit County Children's Home or The Chapel project at Rockynol Retirement Community, Akron, OH. Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel
