Anthony Conte

Anthony Conte, 84, died September 5, 2010.

Born in Minturno, Italy he was a 70 year resident of the Akron area. He was a World War II Army veteran having served in the Philippines in the Pacific Theater. A member of St. Hilary Catholic Church and the Order of the Sons of Italy, Akron Lodge # 685, ``Tony, Red, Skelly' embraced entrepreneurship, the American dream and his love of horticulture. He was co-founder and had retired from Pirollo and Conte Landscape Co.

Preceded in death by his parents, Biagio and Concetta Conte; he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Conte; children, William fiance, Andrea Farrell of Barberton, Dr. John Kimberly Conte of New Albany, Ohio, Elizabeth Rick Vitullo of Copley, Patricia Conte husband, Patrick Campbell of Cave Creek, Arizona and Carla Conte husband, Benjamin Wahl of Seattle, Wash.; sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Thomas Pirollo of Fairlawn; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. WEDNESDAY at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., TODAY from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the , 15120 Collections Dr., Chicago, IL 60693
