Anthony Tuccillo, 85, died Sept. 18, 2018.
Tony was born in Minturno, Italy and came to the United States at the age of 4. He spent his childhood in Kenmore and graduated from Kenmore High School. Tony attended The Ohio State University and earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting as well as a Juris Doctor degree and a Master's in taxation.
Tony served as the Assistant Law Director for the City of Akron for 3 years, beginning in 1960. While there he wrote the city's first tax code. He then went on to start his own practice, retiring only this year. During his career Tony made many important contributions to the legal community. He pioneered the creation of defined benefit plans for medical professionals in this area as well as the incorporation of emergency room physicians. He lectured nationally on both topics. Tony was a member of The Ohio State Alumni Association, Sigma Nu fraternity, American Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, Akron Bar Association, Fairlawn Country Club and Sharon Golf Club.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Marta Tuccillo; brother, John Tuccillo; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Civita and Henry Noethen and Mary and Larry Triola. He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Sandy; children, Teri (Matt) Nicholas and Tom (Colleen) Ewing; grandchildren, Maddie and Annie Nicholas, Andrea Ewing and Marilyn (Connor) Johnson; sister-in-law, Marie Tuccillo; dear nieces and nephews, David Noethen, John (Meg) Noethen, Diane (Pete) Kalgreen, Mark Noethen, Chuck (Gina) Triola, Larry (Randy) Triola and Lisa (Ken) Karas.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. David Loar officiating. There are no calling hours.
