Arthur R. Wilson, Jr. , passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Akron City Hospital. He was born on Oct 21, 1925 in Ashland, Kentucky and was 97 years old.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty, daughter Sandra Lambacher, his twin sister Betty Jo Ryan, and son-in-law Mark McCausland. He is survived by his children Susan McCausland, Jennie (Kurt) Lambacher, James (Teresa) Wilson, and Allen Lambacher; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Art graduated from East High School in 1943, and the University of Akron in 1949 with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the Lone Star and Sigma Tau Fraternities at Akron U, where he met an infamous beauty named Betty who later became his wife. He proudly served in the United States Navy as an officer during WWII.
Art was a registered professional engineer, working for the Spohn Corp. as Vice President for over 38 years. He was a past President of The Akron Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors; Akron Mechanical Contractor; and the Akron Area Builders Exchange. He served on many boards in his industry including the Summit County Health Department and Equal Opportunity Exchange, making a positive impact on the Akron area during his career. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls and Masonic Lodge #680.
Calling hours will be held from 1-3 PM on SUNDAY, January 8th at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
