Barbara Jean Morehouse (Brock)

Barbara Jean Brock Morehouse, daughter of Clarence M. and Marion L. Brock, was born on January 21, 1931 and passed away on April 7, 2018. She attended Bath High School where she met her husband Thomas M. Morehouse. They were married on her birthday in 1951. She and Tom lived in Peninsula for 62 years. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Tom; survived by her son, Dave Morehouse (Connie) of Peninsula, daughter, Cathy Hellming (Ben) of Atlanta, GA, son, Robert Morehouse (Michaele) of Marcy, NY, and son, Thomas B. Morehouse (Patti) of Cuyahoga Falls; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dear friend Ronald Chaffman, and of course, her kitty, Lady.

Barbara attended Kent State University and played trumpet in the marching band. She worked for the Akron Bar Association for 26 years as Director of Communications. She finally retired as Clerk of Court for the Peninsula Police Department in 2012. Barbara taught swimming for many years, was a member of Peninsula United Methodist Church, and the DAR. She loved spending time with her family, and close friends Ron Chaffman, Wilma Riggins and Ann Minke.

A celebration of her life service will be held on Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Akron 44333. The family will greet friends at Billow's on Friday, April 13, from 5 - 7 p.m. and on Saturday, April 14 from 10 - 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peninsula, Ohio following the service.
