Barbara Elizabeth Culbertson
Barbara Elizabeth Culbertson, age 85, passed away peacefully August 31, 2009.
She was born October 30, 1923 in a house in Wadsworth, Ohio to Joseph and Barbara Cseh. She attended the University of Akron before her marriage to James A. Culbertson in 1945. She moved to Columbus, Ohio and worked for Gov. Frank J. Lausche while Jim attended Ohio State. When Jim graduated, they moved to Barberton and then to Fairlawn, Ohio where she lived for forty seven years until her death. She had also worked as a secretary for Sun Rubber, B&W, and Goodyear Aerospace.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; sisters, Margaret Dillworth, Maggie Durham and Ethel Urbano. She is survived by her sons, James and wife Margie of Barberton, Ohio, Sean, partner Roy Belknap of Bath, Ohio; daughter, Barbara of Akron, Ohio; three grandsons, Carlin, Rory, Keith; many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Jay Dillworth and George Culbertson; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Whittaker.
Barbara loved to cook and to entertain and will always be remembered by her great parties, great food and fun gatherings. She was also very active in her community and an avid Ohio State Football fan. Barbara will be remembered by many and missed by all.
Services will be held 11 a.m. FRIDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Dr. Richard O. Griffith officiating. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home THURSDAY, 4 to 8 p.m.
