Barbara Seay Waddell passed away on June 25, 2022, with her loving family surrounding her. She was 86 ½ years old. She was looking forward to seeing her Lord and Savior up in Heaven and being reunited with her husband, David E. 'Gene' Waddell, her sister and best friend Rusty Vogt, her brother Jim Seay, her parents James and Anne Seay, her brother-in-law Wilford Jones and sister-in-law Dorothea Jones, her in-laws David and Merle Waddell, along with all her dear friends and other family members who died before her.
Barbara served as the Chairman for the Ohio National Day of Prayer for many years. She served on the Board of Governors for President Ronald Reagan's Ranch out in Santa Barbara, CA. She served on the Board of Directors for Mama's House which provides a home for women in crisis pregnancies. She volunteered at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission in Indio, CA which serves local people experiencing homelessness, hunger and life challenges through emergency services, recovery programs and community outreach. She wrote and published a book called ‘Knowing God In Your Heart’ which is an in-depth seminar in nine sessions for individual or group study. Barbara was also a member of The Chapel in Akron and loved attending her Primetime Class. But most of all Barbara was a very loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and a loyal friend to many. She loved worshipping her Lord and Savior every day and loved sharing the gospel with anyone who would listen to her.
The night before she died; Barbara gathered her daughter, son, and daughter-in-law together at her home and asked Jesus to bless her entire family as they all prayed together. None of them knew Barbara was going to pass away the next morning. Barbara’s daughter, son and daughter-in-law will always remember their last night together with Barbara. They all look forward to reuniting with Barbara up in Heaven someday in the future.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Diane Bauer; her son David Waddell; her daughter-in-law Charlotte Fisher Waddell; her grandchildren Ryan Bauer, Allyson and Reagan Waddell; her two sisters Debbie Willis and Elizabeth Seay; her many nieces and nephews; and her dear brother-in-law Larry Vogt.
A special thank you from the Waddell Family to all the caregivers who cared for Barbara. She loved and appreciated all of you.
