Barry Collier died April 13, 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born in Detroit Michigan June 17, 1935 to Amy and Bruce Collier. He graduated with an engineering degree from the University of Michigan. His entire working career was spent in the tire industry. After retiring from Michelin, he taught computer classes for SeniorNet and was an AARP tax aide for many years. At various points in his life he was an avid canoeist, pilot, trail bike rider, skier, golfer, sailor, jogger, singer, and sewer of quilts. He was a good and decent man who will be deeply missed.
He is survived by wife, Jo Ann; daughters, Beth and Mary; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Jeff Anderson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30 until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to an animal rescue group or a charity of one's choice.
