Beatrice ``Bea' Jarvis, 93, went home to be with the Lord May 13, 2010.
Born in Terra Alta, W. Va., she lived most of her life in Akron. Bea retired from Children Services after 27 years of service. She was a member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church where she participated in Carolyn's Day Circle. She volunteered 953 recorded hours for Family Services and Board of Volunteers where she received their honored ``turtle award.' Bea will be best remembered for her kindness, gentleness, class, charm, and a love of family, community and God. She was extremely devoted to her daughters and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James Emerson and Al Jarvis; sister, Virginia; she is survived by daughters, Linda Williams of Terra Alta, W. Va. and Peggy Elias of Fairlawn; grandchildren, Rainy Chris, Annie Adrian, Billy Patty; great-grandchildren, Lorena and Eva; sister, Mary Lou Conn of Terra Alta, W. Va.; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Services will be held 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, with Pastor Donald T. Davies and Pastor Matthew McDaniel officiating. Burial at Terra Alta Cemetery, W. Virginia, at 2 p.m. Monday. Friends may call from 4 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arlington Memorial Baptist Church, 2330 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44312 or a charity of one's choice.
