Betty Belle Bowman

August 18, 1921 — May 6, 2017

Betty Belle Bowman, 95, a resident of the Western Reserve Masonic Community in Medina, passed away May 6, 2017.

She was born the daughter of John and Nellie (Nicholas) Sprow in Akron on August 18, 1921. After High School, Betty entered the work force as a secretary, retiring from Sackman Stamp and Stencil Co. of Akron after 44 years of service. She was a member of the Professional Secretary International for 40 years, the Akron Woman's City Club, and also a 60 year member of the Billow Chapter #483 Order of the Eastern Star.

Betty married the love of her life, Ralph Bowman, in September of 1967. There were no children. Both were very outgoing and made many friends through the organizations they joined. They enjoyed traveling with the AARP and also trips to Hawaii and the Caribbean. Their favorite weekend was to Niagara Falls.

Both Betty and Ralph were charter members of the antique/collectables Ohio Bottle Club and Coventry Chapter #3820 AARP.

Preceded in death by her parents and husband; she is survived by her sister-in-law, Gladys Trent and many nieces and nephews. Betty will be remembered as well by many dear friends.

Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., WEDNESDAY from 2 to 4 p.m. when the Rev. Dr. Howard Pippin Jr. will conduct a funeral service at 4 p.m. Private Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Road, Medina, OH 44256.
