Betty Christenson

Betty D. Christenson, 86, died December 20, 2013.

Born in Akron August 17, 1927, she was a member of Anna Dean Chapter #595 O.E.S., Kadesh Court #19 and Social Order of the Beauceant, Akron Assembly #26. Betty volunteered in a variety of ways: as a candy striper at Summa Akron City, as an adult at Barberton Citizens and Community Hospital in Florida and for the M.H. Class at Suffield School. She was also a member of the Nifty-Fifty.

Preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. and Anna Ripplinger Mayer; brother, Robert E. (Rose Oleniak) Mayer and sister, Norma Jean Mayer Gard; she is survived by her husband, Dennis of Uniontown; daughters, Dawne M. (Joe) Fickert of Uniontown, Carole M. Christenson of Uniontown, Cynthia A. (Ron) Scheks of Hartville; son, Dennis Eric (Marie Ruggieri) Christenson of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Jason and Justin Walker, Amy and Todd Christenson, Christopher, Aaron and Erika Scheks; great-grandchildren, Emma, Chase, Ty and Elizabeth Walker; niece, Sheryl Dee McLaughlin.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. SATURDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Anna Dean Chapter #595 O.E.S. and Rev. Deborah Rhinesmith officiating. Private inurnment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
