Betty J. Criss
CUYAHOGA FALLS-Betty J. Criss, 79, died February 28, 2014.
Born in Akron, she was proud to have lived in Cuyahoga Falls most of her life. She was an avid bridge player, former member of the New Horizons Band, and had been a secretary for the City of Cuyahoga Falls, the University of Akron, and in private law practice. Betty was a lifelong Salvationist, staunch conservative and a Republican!
Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Richard F. Criss in 2010; she is survived by her daughter, Kathy Chapman of Dallas, Texas; son, Richard A. Criss of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Michele and Richard Criss and their mother, Dawn; brother-in-law, Phil (Betty) Criss; lifelong best friends, Rita and Harold Thomas.
Betty's family wish to thank the staff of Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls and Crossroads Hospice for their care and compassion.
Services will be held 11 a.m. TUESDAY at the Salvation Army, Akron Citadel Corps, 190 S. Maple St. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow FALLS Chapel, MONDAY from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, the Alzheimer's Association or the Salvation Army.
