Betty M. Keller
It is with heavy hearts we convey to family and friends the passing of our mother, Betty, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the age of 92 with her family at her side.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James, siblings, in-laws and friends of the "greatest generation", and was Akron's May Queen of 1938.
Betty's formal education ended at North High school at the beginning of WWII but ended with a Ph. D in life from the school of hard knocks and motherhood.
Betty was a homemaker and mother of four who devoted her life to her children and grandchildren, who will forever miss her wisdom and advice which was always seasoned with humor. We cherish our memories of her and lovingly referred to her as "Big Bish".
Betty enjoyed writing short stories and poems, crafts and lively conversation.
Survived by children, Ted (Liz) Keller, Karen (Frank) Wessinger, Rick Keller and Connie (Dan) Gergel; grandchildren, Jim (Kullicki) Keller, Julie Keller, Julia January, Kaylee Zapata and Jimmy Keller; great grandson, Alex Zapata; and great granddaughters, Sophia and Amelia Keller; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, 9/19 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road with service following at 4 p.m., Rev. David E. Loar officiating. Donations can be made in Betty's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
