Betty Jane (Burgner) Miklos, 96
Betty Jane Miklos, age 96, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH passed on to be with the Lord on March 14, 2018. She was born September 25, 1921 in Akron, OH, the daughter of Orrie Russell Burgner and Ida Mae (Corp) Burgner.
She graduated from South High School, Akron, OH in 1939. After graduation, she attended Kent State University briefly before entering the workforce.
During World War II, she had several jobs including working for The Pflueger Company packing fish hooks, for Firestone making 40mm guns, and for the McKesson and Robbins storeroom. She was also employed by First National Bank in Stow for seven years. In 1965 she began working for MACtac in Stow in the accounts payable department and later as switchboard operator before retiring in 1984.
After World War II, she married her husband, Steve Miklos, in November of 1945. They built a home in Cuyahoga Falls in the early 1950's and she lived there for the remainder of her life. She was an active member and faithful servant of St Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cuyahoga Falls for many years.
She is survived by her two daughters; Linda (John) Higgins of Cincinnati, OH and Cynthia (Rick) Chapman of Elyria, OH. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, John Higgins IV, Lisa (Brian) Burke, Jason Higgins, Laura Pelletier, Jerrod Higgins, Joshua (Brittany) Higgins of Cincinnati area and Rick (Jami) Chapman, Brad Chapman, C. David (Elaine) Chapman, and Lauren (Simeon) Steidl of Elyria/Avon, OH. She also had 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Special thanks to the physicians, nursing staff, social workers, and aids at O'Neill Healthcare, North Ridgeville and Crossroads Hospice for the wonderful care and kindness they showed Betty and her family these past weeks.
Friends will be received at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH on Sunday, March 18, from 3-7 PM. Pastor Jim Steingass will be officiating services at the funeral home, Monday, March 19, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Akron, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials may be made to St Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 2121 6th St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
