Betty Rose Zarconi, formerly of Austintown, passed away peacefully in Akron on March 14, 2021, the day after celebrating her 94th birthday. Betty was born in Flint, Michigan on March 13, 1927 to the late Elmer Basil and Ruth Mae (Armstrong) Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Peter James Zarconi, brothers Carl and James Ward, sisters, Evelyn Goodman and Joan Loafman, and grandson, Brian Zarconi. She is survived by her sons Anthony (Judy) of Youngstown, Peter (Johnette) of Wichita, Kansas, and Joseph (Debbie) of Akron, her grandchildren Shawn, Sheila, Laura, Shannon, Peter III , Kevin, Christopher (Abby) and Michael (Brooke), and great grandchildren Hunter and Sofia. A lover of fiction, poetry, and music, she gave us love and taught us love, sent treasured handwritten notes with frequent misspellings, and even told us dirty jokes when Dad wasn’t around. She made everyone laugh, and now she can share her songbird voice with the angels. A private mass of Christian burial will take place, followed by a private burial at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Open M Free Clinic at 941 Princeton Street, Akron, Ohio 44311. To share a memory, send a condolence, or light a candle, please visit the Tribute Wall at www.billowfuneralhomes.com (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel). The family wishes to acknowledge the kind and loving care Betty received as a resident of The Merriman of Akron, and especially the love of her special friend, Linda Sowers, over many years there.
