Beverly C. Weihe, of Medina, Ohio, passed away December 18, 2012 after a lengthy illness.
She was a native of St. Louis, Missouri where she graduated with high honors from Washington University.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Don L. Weihe and is survived by sons, Paul and Philip; daughter-in-law, Rebecca; and two granddaughters, Emma and Claire.
Beverly's innate sense of style and ambition were evident as a young adult. A Mademoiselle Magazine internship led her to a short but vibrant career designing and producing women's clothes while Don attended college under the GI Bill. Soon thereafter, she and Don moved to Los Angeles to begin their family.
She will be remembered for her grace, intelligence and wry wit while supporting Don throughout his nearly 40 year career with Firestone Tire and Rubber. Beverly also believed in giving back to the community. She volunteered her skills in the conservation departments of Stan Hywet Hall and the Detroit Institute of Arts, along with her tireless efforts at the village level in Harbel, Liberia, West Africa to combat infant dehydration.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. (
