Bobby Ray Johnson (Cuyahoga Falls) entered into eternal life on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at the age of 80 on the same day that his father passed away in 1951.
Bobby was born on February 24, 1935, and raised in Painesville, Ohio. He was the son of Edward Johnson and Eva Carroll Johnson. Preceded in death by brother, Charles (Marian); he is survived by his wife, Karin B. Johnson; children, Donald A. Johnson (Wendy) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joyce M. Johnson (Don Ostapowicz) of Copley; grandchildren, Peter, Kevin and Jackson Ostapowicz; sister, Betty L. Ebeling of Stow; nephew, Edward Johnson (Sue) of Willoughby; nieces, Claudia Simmons (Jim) of Suffield, Carmen Biasioli of Germany, and Adrianne Ferguson (Scott) of Atlanta, Georgia.
Bob was a vice president in the risk management department at Bank One of Akron from 1987 until his retirement in 1997. He then worked for Fair Financial Services until 1999. He began his career at City Loan Bank, where he worked from 1953 until 1987. He graduated from Riverside High School in Painesville. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany from 1958-1960, serving in the armored Calvary. He met Karin, his future wife, during his time in the service.
Bob was a member of The Chapel in Akron. His faith and wisdom will always be remembered.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, followed by a noon lunch. Interment will be in Fairlawn at Rose Hill Burial Park in the Johnson/Ostapowicz family plot located at Section 6, plot 175 B at 3 p.m. that day. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
