Bradford Doyle Brewster , a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away at his home in Whitmire, South Carolina at the age of 66 on September 2, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father Albert J. "Sox" Brewster, III.
Brad attended Akron schools including Firestone High School but completed his junior and senior high school years at Culver Military Academy, Culver, Indiana. Brad enjoyed the outdoors, evident by his involvement in the Boy Scouts of America where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. With a passion for carpentry that he acquired at an early age by learning to use power and hand tools in his father and grandfather’s wood shops, Brad completed the Sawmill Operations Program at Hocking Technical College, Nelsonville, OH.
Brad was well-known for his witty and intelligent personality! Brad loved cooking, nature, animals, history, children, family, and story-telling - just like his father! Brad was proud of his Irish heritage, as well as being a direct descendant of Elder William Brewster from the Mayflower.
Brad leaves behind his cherished partner Mary Griffin; his mother Lois W. "Susie" Brewster; his siblings Albert J. “Jay” Brewster, IV, Susan Tavenor (Tom), and Christine “Tina” Sturmi (Jim). Brad will be dearly missed by his large family which included nephews, nieces, great nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins.
A memorial service was held in South Carolina on September 7, 2024. A graveside service will be held in Akron on Saturday, Sept. 28th at 12:30 p.m. at Glendale Cemetery, 150 Glendale Ave, Akron, OH 44302.
