Charles Roy Case, age 95, passed away on September 22, 2018.
Roy was born and grew up in Bellaire, Ohio. He was the third child of Charles E. and Eva Jane (Bott) Case, all now deceased.
During WWII, he served in the Army A.S.T.P Program at Ohio University. Following completion of his undergraduate work at Ohio University, he enrolled and graduated from the Case Western School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio. During this period, he met and married his wife of 71 years, Marjorie (Hazlett) Case. They chose Akron to be their location for home and the place to establish a private dental practice. In 1951 he was called by the Navy to active duty for 2 years of service at Little Creek Amphibious Base. After leaving the Navy, the family returned to Akron, where he retired after 40 years from his private dental practice.
He has always been the supportive father of their three children, sons, Charles D. (Laurel) of New Jersey, Robert W. (Marceil) of Colorado and daughter, Patricia of Akron, Ohio. Also left to mourn his passing are six grandchildren, Lee, Ben, Bill, Alice, Ted & Andy (twins) and 2 great grandchildren.
For the past six years he and Marge have made Rockynol their home.
Through all these years his life has been enriched by many friendships and activities, especially those available through church and Masonic memberships.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron 44333 with Inurnment and Military Honors to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Shriners Hospital for Children,2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or to a charity of your choice.
