Candace E. Gengler of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, passed away on April 15th at the age of 72. She was born on August 6th, 1952, in Akron, Ohio, and was the only child of Earl and Edith Joynt of Pennsylvania.
A lifelong Akron native, Candace graduated from Garfield High School and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of Akron in 1974.
Candace had an affinity for a good book, often getting lost in the pages of a great mystery, thriller, or romance novel. She was a passionate sports fan, known for her unwavering loyalty to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and especially the Cleveland Browns. In her younger years, she was also an avid billiards player and bowler. She found great joy in spending time with her church community, particularly as a member of the choir.
More than anything, Candace will be remembered for the deep love she had for her family and her warm, caring personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Edith Joynt, as well as her beloved aunt, Mimi Joynt.
Candace is survived by her husband of 46 years, Donald Gengler; her children, Lynn (Dylan) and Chris (Debi); her grandchildren, Alec (Alli), Breana (Jordan), Tyler, and Aden; and her great-grandchildren, Junior and Levi. She will also be deeply missed by her two dogs, Finn and Loki.
