Carl J. Nickoloff

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Carl Nickoloff , age 97, from Akron, Ohio on September 24, 2024.  He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.

He was always a hard worker. He owned Carloffs Tavern followed by B&K Root beer. He canned peppers. Not quite ready for retirement he worked for Akron Auto Auction until the age of 90.  He was also a member of the Macedonia Business Members Club for which he received The Hall of Fame award in 2018.

He was preceded in death by his parents Metody and Luba Nickoloff, his sister Joyce Pavlik and brother-in-law Bob Pavlik.

Carl is survived by his wife of 37 years, Laura Nickoloff; her daughters, Tracy (Rick) Skinner, Stacy (Ken) Hollingshead, Sally (Mike) Farmer (Mike was always available, day or night whenever Carl called!), Melissa Peavler; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; Brother-in-law, Emmett (Brenda) Diehl and their children. Plus, Vinnie, his constant feline companion.

He is also survived by his first wife, Charlotte and children, Cheryl Lesser (Partner Fred Germano), Janice (John) Otterman, and Jeffrey Nickoloff; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; niece and nephews, Wendy (Jeff) Miller of Columbus, Ohio, Scott (Rhonda) Pavlik, Craig (Stacy) Pavlik of Florida.

A special thanks to St. Edwards and NEO Hospice nurses and caregivers for the great care they provided Carl while he was there.

Funeral Service TUESDAY, October 1, 2024 at 1:00PM at Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Akron, OH 44333. Calling Hour 1 Hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
