Carolyn J. Price nee Shaffer
Carolyn J. Price, 87, died Feb. 9, 2009.
Carolyn will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, love of friends, family and her unwavering faith in God. She and Bud traveled to the four corners of the globe, always returning to their "heart's home" in Akron.
Carolyn loved telling stories. She would read from her collection of well-worn sheets of jokes started when she was a Rainbow Girl and in the Eastern Star only to laugh uncontrollably before getting to the punch line. Her home was filled with laughter as well as beautiful hand made quilts, cross-stitch and knitting. She loved to quilt with her friends at Trinity United Church of Christ and was active with many philanthropic organizations. At the age of 70+, she learned how to use a computer and became a published genealogist.
Every birthday and holiday will always be special with the memories of Carolyn as she sat, surrounded by her true treasures... her family. She was a beloved matriarch to everyone. She never met a stranger and was always there to listen, offering sage counsel. She had perfected God's gift of unconditional love for all.
Carolyn was everyone's ideal daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. We will miss her physical presence yet everyone touched by her will carry a piece of her forever.
