Charles W. "Charlie" Aldridge, Jr., 96, passed away November 25, 2015 at the Welsh Home in Rocky River.
He was born in Salem, VA July 23, 1919 to Charles W. and Grace Palmer Aldridge.
Charles was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 29th Infantry Division. He was part of the D-Day invasion. He was an engineer/draftsman and retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and loved to read.
Charles is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Sian Petz, David Aldridge and Jennifer
Mechling; 4 grandchildren; 6 greatgrandchildren; sister, Pat Dyer; numerous family
from Roanoke, Virginia.
A memorial service will be held December 5, 2015 at 12pm at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 Portage Trail West, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio with Rev. Stephanie Crossland officiating. Charles will be put to rest with a private inurnment, including military honors, at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to
