Charles E. Barrington, 88, passed away peacefully at home March 18, 2013.
Born in England, he served in the Royal Air Force during WW II and immigrated to the United States in 1959. Charles was an engineer who retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 41 years. During this time, he was awarded four patents on wheel and brake designs. He was a longtime member of the Men's Garden Club of America, an active volunteer with lengthy service at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens and an active volunteer at the Seiberling Nature Realm.
Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Alice Barrington and sister, Joyce Barrington; he is survived by his wife of 64 years, Irene; son, David Barrington; daughter, Angela (Bob) Darragh; grandchildren, David, Brent and Andrew Barrington and Nicole Darragh.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. SATURDAY, March 30th, at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Dr. Walter S. Chisholm officiating. Private inurnment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 4 p.m. SATURDAY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stan Hywet Hall or Seiberling Nature Realm.
