Charles Edward Caye

Charles Edward Caye, 53, passed away suddenly December 4, 2016.

Chuck was born July 30, 1963 to Charles Caye and Clare (Weiser) Caye, and along with his parents, he is survived by his wife, Diane; his four children, Nicole (Peter Marx), Abby, Alex and Michelle; sisters, Judy (Randy) Hillner, Kathy Geiger, and Betsy (Doug) Brink; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Greco; and many nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Rocco Greco.

Chuck, a Pittsburgh native, attended North Hills High School (Class of 1981) and later graduated from Youngstown State University (Class of 1987), where he earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering as a student of the Institute for Project Management. He was employed at The Smith & Oby Company, a mechanical contracting business, and served as an Executive Vice President and Secretary for more than 25 years. Chuck was also a member of the MCCA of Cleveland Board of directors and local 120 Pipe Fitters Joint Hiring Hall Committee.

Chuck loved his family more than anything. His children were his heart. He always lent a helping hand to his neighbors and friends. Caye was a MOPAR enthusiast and had many classic cars that he restored and built from the ground up. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. SATURDAY, December 10th at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St., Fairlawn, OH 44333 with Rev. Fr. Steven Brunovsky officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. FRIDAY, December 9th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. In lieu of flowers, a fund was set up at Key Bank for the Caye children's college fund in Diane Caye's name. Other donations can be made to St. Hilary Church in Chuck Caye's name.
