Charles Lee passed away peacefully on April 10th, 2013 at the age of 89. Born in Pittsburgh, PA he returned to China at the age of 5 where he attended boarding school. He spent most of his youth in China and Hong Kong. He later returned to the US and worked various jobs to support his family and was able to bring them to the US in 1954 where they first lived in Wooster, OH and eventually settled permanently in Akron.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, May, and daughter, Sue. He is survived by three sons and their spouses, Kenneth (Elise), Keen (Judy), and Raymond (Sylvia). He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and their spouses, Stephan Gravina, Evelyn and Jonathan Lee, Jennifer Huber (Zac), Christopher Lee (Katie), and Jeffrey, Christina, and Jeremy Lee. He also leaves behind son-in-law, Dick Gravina.
Charles is also survived by his loving brother and best friend, Henry of Wooster, OH as well as many nephews and nieces scattered throughout the US, Canada, and Hong Kong. Private funeral services will be held next Thursday, April 18th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to VNS Hospice and Palliative Care, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, OH 44333 or to Asian Services in Action, Inc., 730 Carroll St., Suite #1A, Akron, OH 44304.
