Charles L. Lucas, Jr., 83, died peacefully July 16, 2008.
Born in Akron, he was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II and member of St. Hilary Catholic Church. Charles had worked in quality control for much of his career and retired from the U.S. Department of Defense.
Preceded in death by his sister, Rita Yamokoski; he is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Lucas Walls Jake, Rita A. Hawkins and Patricia James Brad; sons, Charles L. Lucas III and Jeffrey D. Lucas Jackie; grandchildren, Jennifer Hawkins, Rachael Miller Jeremi, Michael and Sarah Lucas; brother, Bernard P. Lucas.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. SATURDAY at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St. Interment with military honors by Charles Faust American Legion Post 281 at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., FRIDAY 5 to 7 p.m. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to V.N.S. Hospice, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron 44333. Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 330-867-4141
