Charles A. Mardis, D.D.S. Charles A. Mardis, D.D.S., 62, died October 15, 2011 after a short illness. Born November 6, 1948 in Akron, Ohio, he graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1973. He practiced dentistry in Fairlawn for the past 37 years, was a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and was active in the Akron Dental Society. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, it's Men's Club and past president of AHEPA. He was an avid golfer. Preceded in death by his father, Mario Mardis, he is survived by his wife, Janet Mardis; mother, Lillian Mardis; sons, Charles E. Lisa Mardis D.D.S. and Michael Mardis; mother-in-law, Mary Panzner; brothers-in-law, Dr. Joseph Margaret Panzner, Steve Barbara Panzner and Jerry Susan Panzner who were his brothers for 45 years; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank Dr. Arthur, Dr. Leano and Dr. Panzner for their care and compassion and a special thanks to the Intensive Care Unit at Akron General. Service will be held 11 a.m. WEDNESDAY at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., with Rev. Fr. Jerry F. Hall and Rev. Fr. George Callos officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., TUESDAY from 5 to 8 p.m. with Trisagion service at 6:30 p.m. Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel
