Charles M. Speicher entered the church triumphant on August 21, 2019. He was born June 21, 1929 in Akron to William Webster and Edith (nee Charles) Speicher. As a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force he served for a year in Korea. He dedicated his life in service to the Boy Scouts of America in Akron, Cleveland, Michigan and Kentucky. He loved gardening and won awards for his beautiful yards. He enjoyed genealogy, woodworking, golf, and serving in the churches where he and Elizabeth belonged. Many folks came to see his elaborate HO train layout, which was featured on WKYT TV in Lexington, KY and which his daughters and grandchildren have fond memories.
He is survived by his wife (married September 6, 1952) Elizabeth (nee Rennells); daughters, Cheryl Spahr and Kathryn Zamrzla (Daniel Barcy); grandchildren and great grandchildren: Jessica (nee Zamrzla) and Daniel Makuh, Abigail and Lauren Makuh; David and Elizabeth (nee Langenhop) Spahr, Avery and Penelope Spahr; Sarah (nee Spahr) and Andrew Margevicius, Aidan, Kyle and Norah Margevicius; Beth Ann (nee Zamrzla) and Adam Gajewski, Emma and Samuel Gajewski; Alison (nee Zamrzla) and Nathan Carnes, Michael Carnes.
Services for Charles will be held at Strongsville United Methodist Church on September 1st at 3:00 with visitation at 2:00. Inurnment will be held for the family at Rose Hill Burial Park, Akron for friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the National Audubon Society .
