Charles B. "Chuck" VanLeer, 85, passed away March 17, 2018.
He was born May 3, 1932 to the late George VanLeer Sr. and Edna VanLeer nee Tippie. He was a graduate of Manchester High School, class of 1951. He was employed at A&P for 16 years and retired from Giant Eagle in 1987 after 15 years of service. Chuck was the co-owner of Rose Bowl Florist with his late companion of 40 years, Bill Mason.
Preceded in death by his brothers, George VanLeer, Jr. and Richard VanLeer. Chuck is survived by his dog, "Lilly" and many nieces and nephews. Chuck wanted to express his gratitude to his special friend Barbara for her great help in caring for me during my illness; My special friend, Bill G., we were friends for over 40 years, and Ray and Carol Mason and their family.
Services will be held SATURDAY, March 24, 2018, at 1:00 PM, at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St. (corner of 23rd St. and Falls Ave.) with Rev. Neal Sadler officiating. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the first Congregational Church of Tallmadge, 85 Heritage Drive, Tallmadge, OH 44278.
