Cheryl Sumner Fisher

Cheryl Sumner Fisher , 76, of Copley Twp. passed away peacefully at home on September 24, 2023. Cheryl was born in Akron, Ohio on January 3, 1947 to the late James Jr. and Maxine Fisher. She attended Colby Jr. College and graduated from Ohio University. She taught art for 30 years at Northeastern High School in Springfield, Ohio before returning to Akron upon retirement. A former member of Trinity United Church of Christ (Wadsworth, Ohio) and Youngstown Church of Christ, she also volunteered many hours at Stan Hywet and loved dogs.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother James Fisher III and sister-in-law Nancy Fisher, Cheryl is survived by her brother John (Carole) Fisher of Lisbon, Ohio, and many loving cousins. The family is grateful to the staff at Copley Place and Cleveland Clinic.

A graveside service will be held at 12 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Youngstown, Ohio.
