With profound sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Christina Elizabeth King on Friday, October 25, 2024, in New York City. She was the treasured daughter of Jason R. King and the late Kellie M. Wallerstein, who preceded her in death this March. Christina illuminated the world with her fierce independence, artistic brilliance, and boundless compassion for others.
Born December 5, 1986, in Akron, Ohio, Christina brought an extraordinary light that forever brightened our family's life. Her passion for family was evident in everything she did - from organizing impromptu movie nights to planning surprise celebrations for birthdays and achievements. She blossomed into a remarkable woman whose creative spirit and generous heart touched countless lives. She excelled in all things performing arts, including theater, theater tech, and acting.
Christina was a genius-level artist who channeled her passion into creating stunning paintings and crafting exquisite custom jewelry. Her work reflected her vibrant soul and keen eye for beauty in unexpected places. Whether embarking on midnight adventures and attending live music shows with her Dad, or exploring hiking trails with her family, Christina embraced life with infectious enthusiasm and joy.
The bonds Christina shared with her siblings Gabriel, Colleen, and Isabella were uniquely special and equally profound. Their relationships were built on unconditional love, shared adventures, and an unshakeable foundation of support for one another. Christina's love for her family knew no bounds, and she approached each relationship with deep devotion and care.
Christina leaves behind her grieving father, Jason; siblings, Colleen Jean, Gabriel Leon, and Isabella Grace; nephews, Jaxxyn Leon and Lenoxx Wren; grandparents, Sheila and Larry; aunts, Amy, Laura, and Teri; uncle, Robert; cousins, Autumn, Ana, and Mark Rowan; and a vast circle of friends whose lives she enriched immeasurably.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated medical teams at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and the Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health, with special thanks to Alejandro Fulgencio and the Queens Team for their compassionate care.
Christina remained strong until the end, facing each challenge with grace and determination. With her father Jason by her side providing comfort and love in her final moments, she passed peacefully. Her beautiful spirit, creative passion, and loving heart will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. She has now joined her beloved mother Kellie, where together they will continue watching over our family with endless love.
A private funeral service for the immediate family will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Weill Cornell Medical Center and the Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health.
Christina, you brought immeasurable joy and light to our lives. Your artistic soul and loving spirit will forever shine in our hearts. Rest well in Mom's loving arms until we meet again Baby Girl.
