Christine Marie Fatur
On the beautiful late afternoon of August 5th, our beloved daughter, Christine, passed into the loving arms of our merciful God after a long seven year struggle with chronic Lyme disease and its many associated illnesses.
Born in Akron, Ohio on January 19, 1972, "Kat" as she was known by her many on-line Lyme friends, is survived by her parents, Frank R. Fatur and Marie Dettling (James); big brother, Michael; dear little nephew, Caleb Andrew Ciolek; special aunt and Godmother, Majella (James) Stein; nephew, Aaron F. Stein; uncle, Dr. Michael (Mary Lieberman) Heil; aunt, Dr. Joyce Fatur; very special friends, Michael Plelickapick, Gwen "Sunny" Simmons, Michelle Klazio, as well as numerous devoted and loving Ravine, Heil, Fatur, and Dettling aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Elizabeth and Gerald Heil, ever present in her young life; paternal grandparents, Frank and Josephine Fatur; her best friend, soul-mate and fiancé, Hakan Gulseren (Istanbul, Turkey); and her dog Hailey, her faithful, loyal, constant companion of thirteen years, chock- full of unconditional love rarely leaving Christine out of her sight.
Educated at St. Hilary school, St. Vincent-St. Mary, and the University of Akron, Chris worked in the mortgage industry before becoming ill.
Her sparkling smile, spontaneous sense of humor (on the better days), good heart, long, lean physique and incredible copper colored hair made her stand out in any crowd.
Throughout her many illnesses, she was an avid researcher, a fighter, a warrior---but in the end, she grew wearya"her strength finally giving out.
