It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Christopher Rigby a.k.a Topher-Jo on February 4. Chris was born in Beeville, Texas on February 16, 1976.
Chris served six years in the Army, stationed in Korea and later Fort Belvoir, specializing in satellite communications. He then worked in SAT-COM for a private contractor in Kuwait, before becoming a certified gunsmith and CNC programmer.
Chris was a quiet and gentle man who had a valuable perspective to provide anyone willing to listen. He wasn’t extremely extroverted, but would open up once he knew you. He was a loyal friend, and part of a group, the “IX”, who stuck together since elementary, middle and high school.
Chris loved living in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and enjoyed reading, gunsmithing, mathematics and physics, CNC programming and cats.
Chris was predeceased by his father Ronald Rigby, and is survived by his parents Eileen and George Rooney, loving brother Jason Rigby (Lauren) and step-siblings Chris Rooney (Erin), Erin Wilson (Mike) and Patrick Rooney (Veronica).
He was the cherished uncle of Ronan Rigby who called him “my Toph,” and Meredith, Jack, Claire, Dylan, Kendall, Caroline, Ian, Gavin and Kai. He will be missed by so many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially the “IX”.
The hole he is leaving in our lives can never by filled.
