Claire B Grant

Claire B. Grant , 96, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023. She was born in Delmar, MD, to Lela and Walter Figgs. After graduating from Delmar High School, Claire completed nurses training and became a registered nurse. She served as a cadet nurse during WWII, helping care for returning injured soldiers. Most of her nursing career was spent working for the Veterans Administration in Delaware and Ohio. In addition to nursing, Claire enjoyed gardening and was active in Bath Alpha Garden Club. She was an active member of P.E.O., a philanthropic sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Douglas.

She is survived by daughters, Gill Grant and Valerie (Pete) Briggs; grandchildren, Maddie, Audrey, Griffin and Zach.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at Ohio Western National Cemetery.
