Clifford Eugene Abbott

Clifford Eugene Abbott, 88, went to meet his Lord on July 13, 2012.

Born in Shadyside, Ohio on February 15, 1924 to William E. and Lula Abbott. Clifford was a graduate of West High School and the University of Akron. He served in the U.S. Army Corps. during WWII. He was a chemist for Phillips Petroleum for 34 ½ years and was an active member of Park U.M.C. where he was very faithful in his stewardship and held various positions.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gerry; sons, David (Laura), Philip (Denise); daughter, Nancy (George) Blind; grandchildren, Kimberly (deceased), Aaron Abbott, Jenny (Rob) Edwards, Stephanie and Jaclyn Blind; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Abbott, Maxine Shaffer; sisters in law, Lois Alles, Faye (Forrest) Mangham; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Park U.M.C., 2308 24th St., SW, Akron, OH 44314 with Rev. Dr. Linda Somerville officiating. Private interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 3 to 6 p.m. TODAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron.
