Clyde M. Gibbs, Jr. "JR"

February 9, 1949 - February 26, 2018.
Our beloved husband, father, uncle and friend Clyde M. Gibbs, Jr., of Uniontown, OH passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018.
Clyde grew up in Akron, Ohio and graduated from the University of Akron and Buchtel High School. Clyde was a member of the UA Local 219 Plumbers & Pipefitters. He worked as a pipefitter and project manager. He retired as a project manager from Honeywell. Clyde enjoyed being involved in a variety of sports with his children and grandchildren and always "being in their corner". While retired he continued to enjoy attending his grandchildren's sporting events, as well as, fishing and golfing with family and friends. One of his favorite things was going "cruising" in his Corvette with his brother, Keith.

Clyde is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Sherry (Toalston) Gibbs; his children, Sean (Cindy) Gibbs of Richboro, PA, Brandon (Lauren) Gibbs of Haddonfield, NJ, Heather (Ben) Cooper of North Tonawanda, NY; his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Graham and Cassie Gibbs, and Emma Cooper; his siblings, Donna (William) Swaney of Elyria, OH , Keith (Kim) Gibbs, Diane (George) Sarkis and Wendy Gibbs all of Akron, OH; nieces, Honey Wheaton, Lisa Kuester, Angel Kegley, Shelley Grafton, Megan Cavanaugh and Amanda Wagner; nephews, Logan Prouty, Christopher Sarkis, and Godson Benjamin Sarkis. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Jean (Nose) Gibbs; and sister, Mary Louise.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 6 from 5-7 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333, where a brief service will take place at 7 p.m. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
