Constantinos "Gus" Zanoudakis

Constantinos “Gus” Zanoudakis passed away peacefully on January, 19, 2025, at the age of 96. He was born on November 27, 1928 in the city of Chania on the island of Crete, Greece, to Emmanuel and Eleftheria Zanoudakis (nee Andredakis). 

Gus Zanoudakis lived the American Dream. He came to America and established himself in Akron, Ohio. In Akron, he founded and ran a successful business, was blessed with a loving family, and was surrounded by countless friends. Gus touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered for his kindness, generosity, and his unwavering commitment to his family and the Greek community. 

Preceded in death by his parents, twin baby boys, Emmanuel and baby B; his loving wife, Evangelia (nee Pattakos); his daughter-in-law, Mary Zanoudakis; and his sister, Sophia Drikakis. Gus is survived by his children, Dr. Emmanuel Zanoudakis, and Dr. Mary-Ann (James) Wolf; his grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole, Katherine, Victoria, Jerome, and Michael; and his great grandchildren, Henry and Iris. 

Gus was a lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Akron, The Pancretan Association, and The Order of Ahepa, where he served in various leadership roles through the years. 

A special thank you to the Gardens of Western Reserve Home Care and Hospice for their kindness and compassion with Home Care that later transitioned to Hospice Care. Gus was blessed to have a dedicated group that assisted with his healthcare, social, emotional, and spiritual needs the last four years. 

Funeral Service 10 A.M. FRIDAY January 24th at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., Akron, OH 44304. Friends and Family may call from 4-6 P.M. THURSDAY January 23rd at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, OH 44333, with Trisagion service at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gardens of Western Reserve Home Care and Hospice, 3792 State Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223, or Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
