Craig James Culler , 66, of Akron, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, September 15, 2023.
Born in Akron, Craig spent eight of his childhood years in Jackson, Michigan. He was a proud, long-time resident of Akron and a graduate of Firestone High School and the University of Akron.
He worked 27 years for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in customer service for the Chemical Division for most of his career, and later for Americas International, Inc.
Craig had an adventurous spirit, and loved spending as much time as he possibly could outdoors: hiking, running, bicycling, and driving through the Summit Metro Parks, and Cuyahoga Valley National Parks. He also enjoyed golfing, camping, canoeing and fishing with friends. Around the house he enjoyed gardening and loved listening to classic rock and roll as loud as his ears could handle.
Craig had the ability to talk to everyone with his outgoing personality. He also had the gift of animated story-telling of anything and everything, making him hard to forget. He was a vivacious character, and he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Craig is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Culler & Stuart Davis of Charleston, SC; adopted son, James Culler; former wife, Patricia Culler; sister, Carol (Culler) Weigand each of Akron, OH; niece Tracy (Weigand) Kucera & husband Kenneth Kucera, and their daughter Ella Bay of Pittsburgh, PA; cousin, Tim Culler & wife Ellen Bermingham of San Francisco, CA; cousin, Karen Culler & Tom Weidinger of Napa, CA; cousin, Cia (Culler) Smallwood & Benj Kempe of Boise, ID; cousin, John Miller & Terri Goubeaux of Brimfield, OH; cousin, Wayne Miller & Patti Hooper of Akron, OH; cousin, Suzanne Hogue & Greg Hogue of Spencer, WV; cousin, Debbi Popo & Vince Popo of Millersport, OH, and many long-time friends across the country.
