Dale H. Dettke
Dale H. Dettke, 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 11, 2009.
He was born July 26, 1931 in Home, Kansas. He was a graduate of Kansas State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Aministration in 1954. He served as a Reserve Commissioned Officer of the Army, 1st Lieutenant, SIGC, USAR. Signal Corps 505
Dale retired in 1998 after working 43 years for Bridgestone-Firestone in Personnel and Union Relations. He was a member of Fairlawn Lutheran Church, serving the Lord faithfully his entire life. Dale was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Walter Dettke; he is survived by mother, Bernice Dettke; sister, Eva Roland Schmidt of Topeka, Kansas; wife of 54 years, Kathryn A. Kraemer Dettke; daughters, Sheryl James Pflueger and Diana Joseph Pullella; grandchildren, Katherine and Kara Pflueger and Ryan Pullella, all of Akron.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Fairlawn Lutheran Church, 3415 W. Market St., Fairlawn with Rev. Thomas A. Zucconi officiating. Private inurnment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
