Daniel Francis Luff

Daniel F. Luff Sr., 76, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, went to be with the Lord, April 6th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Dan was a lifelong resident of Akron OH, born to Clifton and Frances Luff (nee Potter). Dan graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School, and he then obtained a degree from the University of Akron. Dan joined the US Army 82nd Airborne Division, and was deployed to Vietnam during the height of the war. Upon returning from Vietnam, Dan worked with UPS until his retirement.

After retirement Dan loved to spend time cooking for his family and friends, and he was a master gardener. Dan was a skilled handy man and carpenter; you could always find him helping family and friends with house projects. But most of all, Dan loved spending time with his family, whom he loved very much. His wife, Linda, was the light of his life. He loved her dearly and would do anything for her. Dan spent as much time as he could being with his sons, Daniel Jr. (Elizabeth), Darrell (Kelli), and Kevin (Michelle); his step-children, Chris (Rachel), Megan (Nick), and Stephanie (Chris); and the many grandchildren who called him Papa. Dan also enjoyed spending time with his brothers, Larry (Maggie), Dave (Marsha), Paul, Mark, and Brian; along with his nieces and nephews, Kristin (Bruce), Courtney, Shannon, and Brian (Nicole).

When Dan found time away from family he could often be found serving at church or donating to local charities. After a long day, Dan would sit in his chair watching GRIT TV or reading a good book. He was a wonderful example for others and will be dearly missed by many.

Dan will be laid to rest 11 A.M. FRIDAY May 2nd at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, OH, with Rev. Fr. David Durkee officiating the committal service. United States Army funeral honors will be rendered at the cemetery.
