Dann A. Miller

Dann A. Miller , born on December 24, 1940 in Akron, Ohio, passed away on February 3, 2023 in Akron, Ohio with his loving family by his side.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, who passed away in 2019 after 51 years of marriage. He was also preceded by parents Milton Miller and Nina June Miller (née Dye), and by his brother Garry who passed away in 2020. He is survived by children Kristen Halter (Tom) and Kevin Miller, grandchildren Josh and Ryan Halter, and Brooke and Dylan Miller, sisters Rebecca Beorn, Cathy Copen, and brothers Randy and Joe Miller.

Dann served his country in the Army Reserve National Guard of Ohio. He was honorably discharged in 1968 after 5 years and 5 months of service.

He graduated from the University of Akron in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management.

Dann worked 30 years for BF Goodrich (and successor entities Uniroyal-Goodrich and Michelin) in Management Information Services. After retiring from Michelin at age 55, he went on to work for Alltel, Medical Mutual, and Westfield Insurance Companies in Information Technology. He retired from Westfield in 2006.

Dann enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He liked traveling and would regularly go on cruises and trips with friends. He particularly enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He enjoyed gardening and yard work and baking pumpkin pies and zucchini bread. While he enjoyed the occasional round of golf, he always put family first above all else.

The family will receive visitors on SATURDAY, February 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller St. Fairlawn, OH 44333, followed by a brief memorial service at 3:00 PM.
