On March 4, David Jones rejoined Laura in their duet of praise before the heavenly throne.
Dave was born March 2,1930, in Scranton, PA, graduated from Moosic High School and Harpur College (Triple Cities, Binghamton, NY), and raised a family in Apollo, PA. He retired from US Steel Corporation, and later moved to Akron in 2002.
David's second love (after Laura) was the outdoors. He loved gardening, hunting, travelling, and hiking the hill and forests of western Pennsylvania. Dave also contributed extensive volunteer hours serving his community through the church (Assembly of God), Boy Scouts, Salvation Army and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.
In addition to Laura, Dave was preceded in death by two sisters and their husbands, Laverne (Ralph) Evans and Beth (Chuck) Hubbs; and his eldest son, David. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Lorene of Bel Air, MD; and sons, Dan (Jean) of Akron, OH, Dale (Terry) of Hagerstown, MD and John (Steve Kaunelis) of Jersey City, NJ.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 27th, at Crosspoint Alliance Church, 855 Rothrock Rd, Copley, OH 44321 and graveside, Sunday, July 28th, Springbrook Cemetery, Springbrook, PA. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
